Italia suffer blow as Barzagli uncertain for Euro 2012
Key Italian central defender Andrea Barzagli is really a
major doubt for Euro 2012 after tearing his left calf muscle based on the team
physician.
The 31-year-old Juventus star - part of Italy's 2006 World
Cup winning squad - will certainly be out for approximately 20 days based on
the physician Enrico Castellacci.
"We is going to do our utmost to ensure that he
rebounds over time, but that'll be tough," stated Castellaci.
"What's for several is the fact that he won't be
readily available for the audience stage matches."
Barzagli, a title champion with VfL Wolfsburg in '09 after
which with Juventus in Serie A final term, will undergo further scans on Friday
that will then give coach Cesare Prandelli a clearer idea whether he should
replace him or otherwise.
The injuries to Barzagli are really a major blow to Prandelli’s
intended to play three central defenders just like Juventus did last season.
For Italy's opening group game against holders The country
next Sunday in Gdansk Prandelli may choose to play Angelo Ogbonna, who'd a
superb season for Torino last season which saw them marketed to Serie A,
instead of Barzagli.
Should Barzagli be eliminated for that tournament then
Prandelli will probably contact Inter Milan's Andrea Ranocchia, who made the
ultimate 25 but unsuccessful to create the ultimate 23-guy squad.
