England striker Jermain Defoe has came back home from Euro 2012 following the dying of his father overnight, the Football Association stated inside a statement on Thursday.
"Jermain will re-join the England Euro squad in the end. There won't be any alternative player contacted," it added.
We'd request all media to respect Jermain and the family's privacy only at that hard time. Inch
England showed up in Belgium, co-hosts with Ukraine for that tournament which begins on Friday, on Wednesday,
Their first Group D match is against France in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Monday.
Tottenham striker Defoe has 47 caps but hasn't performed a complete 1 hour 30 minutes for England, generating rather a status like a match-altering super-substitute.
